Armani

The Armani fashion house was founded in 1975 by Giorgio Armani, who was born near Milan in 1934. Armani entered the fashion industry as a window dresser, but soon established himself as a fashion designer. The Armani label has become a brand synonymous with elegant simplicity and sophistication which has inspired him to create not only clothing, but jewellery, watches, cosmetics and fragrances as well. Armani's first foray into perfumes was in 1981 with Giorgio by Giorgio Beverly Hills. 1982 saw the release of the first Armani branded perfume simply called "Armani" followed by the first Armani fragrance for men called Armani Eau Pour Homme. The 1990's saw the release of Armani's first floral fragrances in the form of Gio and Acqua di Gio for women, followed with Acqua di Gio Pour Homme. In 1998 the first duo fragrance was launched in the form of She and He. These were more youthfully inspired under the Emporio Armani label. 1999 saw the release of Armani Mania. The next release was another Emporio duo "White She" and "White He" in 2001. These were lighter than the original She and He fragrances. 2004 saw Armani branching out with his first Armani Prive collection. Several new perfumes have been released including Sensi and Sensi White, the new and more feminine Armani Mania Pour Femme and Armani Mania Pour Homme. 2004 saw the release of Armani's first oriental fragrance for men, Black Code (later renamed to Armani Code) which proved extremely popular and was followed by Armani Code for women in 2006. The most recent Armani released in 2007 were Armani Attitude for Men and Emporio Diamonds (promoted by Beyonce Knowles). After nearly three decades, Armani continues to release exciting new fragrances and Armani perfumes remain popular. We look forward to more to come!
