Alfred Dunhill began his venture for success after inheriting his father's saddlery business in 1893 at age 21, converting the business into "Dunhill Motorites". The line of accessories included products such as car horns and leather overcoats with the slogan, "Everything for the car but the motor." From then on, he launched menswear, timepieces, writing instruments, gifts & games, and fragrances. He also manufactured Dunhill brand cigarettes, as well as launched Alfred Dunhill Cup golf tournament.
